2008 Scholarship Winners
katelyn

Katelyn Domingues

Katelyn Domingues, a senior at Nazareth Area High School, is the daughter of Janet and Gaspar Domingues of Easton. She was President of the National Honor Society, Captain of the Varsity Girl’s Lacrosse team, Senior Executive of SADD, and a member of many clubs such as the Senior Class Executive Board, History Club, Biology Olympics, Peer Tutoring and Principal-Student Advisory Board. She was named AP Scholar by the College Board and an “Academic All-Star” of the Express Times and Lafayette College Scholarship. Her community involvement has included Tatamy Borough Jounior Council Person, Rustic Pathways Community Service in Costa Rica, and walk for the American Heart Association. Katelyn will be attending Bucknell University this fall with a major in Biology and plans to attend graduate school to earn a PhD and MD degrees in hopes of becoming a stem cell research scientist.

Katherine Marinello

Katherine Marinello, a senior at Easton Area High School, is daughter of Charles and Joanne Marinello of Easton. Katherine is an AP Scholar, a 4 yr. letter winner in varsity soccer, received the Varsity Coach Award for soccer, is active in concert and marching band, a member of the National Honor Society , the National Society of High School Scholars, PA Association of Student Council, and Key Club. Katherine has volunteered at Good Shepherd and works for Wegmans Supermarket in Nazareth. Katherine will be attending Pennsylvania State University, majoring in Speech Language Pathology, and hopes to pursue a Masters degree after graduating. Once certified she wants to work with brain injury patients.

Karen Emery

Karen Emery is the daughter of Richard and Patricia Emery of Easton. Karen is a senior at Easton Area High School where she is a member of the Key Club, Volleyball team, and choir. She is also active in the 24-hour Relay for Life cancer walk as well as volunteering at various physical therapy centers. Karen plans to pursue a degree in physical therapy at The University of the Sciences in Philadelphia.



 

Sukhdip Kaur

Sukhdip Kaur is the daughter of Sukhder Singh and Surhraj Kaur of Easton. Sukhdip is a senior at Easton Area High School where she is a member of the National Honor Society, Explorer Club, Key Club. She is also very active in her church as well as volunteering at the hospital. Sukhdip plans on pursing a career as a doctor after attending Lehigh University.

Kristin Liew

Kristin Liew is the daughter of Thomas and Annette Liew of Easton. She is a senior at Easton Area High School where she is a member of the Key Club, yearbook staff, and a four year starter on the varsity soccer team as well as senior co-captain. Kristin is an active volunteer in church activities and local community service. Kristin plans to pursue a degree in physician’s assistant studies at DeSales University.



 

Jenny Harper

Jenny Harper is the daughter of Timothy and Tracey Harper of Nazareth. She is a senior at Nazareth Area High School where she is involved with the Key Club, Spanish Club, and is head of the public relations committee for the Blue Eagle Ambassadors. She works at Nazareth Pharmacy and enjoys being with her friends. Jenny plans to attend the University of Pittsburgh to study pre-pharmacy.




2005 Healthcare Scholarship Winners



Amanda Baranowski


Amanda Baranowski, a senior at Nazareth Area High School, is the daughter of JoAnn DiFrancesca of Bushkill Township. She is a member of the Nazareth Chapter of the National Honor Society. She is involved in the High School's Cheerleading program as well as the Pennsy All-Stars competition cheerleading. During high school she has been involved in volunteer projects such as peer tutoring, working at a local rodeo for Edgewood Valley Farms and "Village Fest" for Towamensing Volunteer Fire Company. Her hobbies include working on import cars, going to car shows, and spending time with her family. She is currently a part-time receptionist at Star-Pontiac GMC. Amanda plans on pursuing a career in the medical field majoring in Biochemistry and Psychology.


Megan Correll

 Megan Correll, a senior at Nazareth Area High School, is the daughter of Kevin and Kathy Correll of Nazareth. She is active in basketball, soccer, Special Olympics, Key Club, and Student Government at NAHS. She is the captain of the Nazareth Girls soccer team, has been awarded MVP of the Holiday Basketball Tournament, and was named to the Express Times All Area Honorable Mention Basketball Team. Megan was also selected for the Via All-Star Basketball Classic and the Lions All-Star Soccer Classic. She is currently employed at Moravian Hall Square Retirement Community. Megan will be attending the Nursing program at Moravian College.




2004 Healthcare Scholarship Winners


Sean Buskirk

Sean is currently a senior at Nazareth Area High School and plans to attend University Park campus of Penn State University. After majoring in biochemistry he plans to attend graduate school and begin a career as a scientific researcher. During Sean's four years in high school, he was a member of the baseball team, chess team, scholastic scrimmage team, and National Honor Society. In the summer he plays baseball for Nazareth Sr. Legion. He enjoys snowboarding, bowling, and golfing. Sean is the son of Stan and Julie Buskirk of Bushkill Township.



Mark Searles

Mark is currently a senior at Notre Dame High School and plans to attend the University of Scranton next year. He plans to study Pre-Medicine with the intention of becoming a physician with dedication and service to others. At Notre Dame, Mark has recently been awarded the honor of being a Bishop's Catholic Scholar. He has served as the Executive Vice President of the student council, and has been a member of the National Honor Society, Peer Listeners, SADD, Key Club, Wind Ensemble playing trumpet, and was the lead in this year's theatrical production of Cinderella. Mark is also the captain of the track and field throwing team. Mark is an alter server and member of the St. Jane Frances de Chantel youth group. He is the son of Wayne and Trish Searles.






2003 Healthcare Scholarship Winner

Habir Singh is the first recipient of the DeBerardinis/Loftus Healthcare Scholarship.  Habir ranks in the top 3 percent of his class.  He is a varsity letter winner in tennis, a member of the National Honor Society Executive Committee and was nominated to Who's Who in American High School Students.  He received the US Achievement Academy National Award and the Martin D. Cohen Foundation Scholarship, Palmer Lions Club Scholarship, James B. Reilly Memorial Scholarship.  Extracurricular activities outside of school include being a donor aide at Miller Memorial Blood Center, and being a member of DeMolay and Boy Scouts.  He volunteers with the Suburban EMS and works for Domino's Pizza in Easton.  Habir plans to major in pre-med, biology and psychology at Boston University.
